Dr. Bev,
Thank you for your vast expertise and gentle caring holistic (whole horse) approach employed to provide guidance and instruction that enabled me to care for Fred, my Quarter horse gelding, displaying acute laminitis and severe founder beginning February 2007. Two years later, many farm calls (often on weekends), telephone calls and thousands of hours (on my part) of tedious, but vital nursing care and he's once again a happy, healthy, rideable pleasure horse. The knowledge and technical learning on my part are immeasurable and too immense to put into words.

In my heart I know without yours and Brian Smigielski's expertise, Fred's story would not have a happy ending.

Many, many thanks for giving me back Fred.

Sincerely,
Chris Boomgaard

Note: It imperative to find the underlying cause of a founder case and correct the metabolic instability in order to achieve optimal hoof integrity. It is equally important for the hoof capsule to be properly balanced to stimulate vascularization to the structures in the extremity. Brian Smigielski completed a Master’s program in Applied Equine Podiatry and specializes in equine founder cases. For a consult call: 248-756-2702.

Fred 4/07: Note the typical founder
stance with weight shifted to the hind end.

Fred 9/07: Metabolically sound
and obviously more comfortable.

Dollar’s portfolio perfection:
I purchased a seven year old TWH in October 2007. He had been sored for showing and was under weight by more than 150lbs. Over the next six months, we increased his feed and TLC. However, he would not gain weight; hoof growth did not improve and energy levels decreased. His state of continued nervousness was a concern to us since he was placed in a compassionate boarding home. That is when we contacted Dr.Bev to review Dollar’s overall condition. We followed Bev’s recommendations to detox from a lead toxicity and three months later his state of health was balancing. By the end of year, other boarders at our facility were eager tell us how dramatically his health had improved. Currently, he is a very happy pony and has a beautiful girlfriend!

On March 31, 2009 our 7 year old Shih-Tzu Holly ruptured a disk in her back. This left her without the use of her back legs. Our family vet recommended Dr. London for acupuncture and because of her use of holistic medication. Dr. London first saw Holly on April 6 and gave her a short acupuncture treatment and medication to help with the discomfort and inflammation in her back. After Holly's second treatment she began trying to stand using her left rear leg. Two days after her third treatment she began to stand on both of her rear legs. She has since had two more acupuncture treatments and is walking on her own again and getting stronger every day. We are very grateful to Dr. London and her assistant Carlos for all they have done for Holly.
